Spring

Spring is the best time for planting in Minnesota. As the warming temperatures and regular rainfalls occur, plants are able to establish their roots early on before having to endure the hot summer heat!

  • This is also the time when irrigations should be turned back on. By hiring a professional start-up your irrigation system, you are sure to have the proper water coverage for both your lawn and planting areas!
  • Begin a Fertilizer and Weed Control Program to keep your lawn green and weed free!
  • Core Aeration and dethatching of lawns is typically done during the early Spring months. This allows your lawn to let water and nutrients access to your lawns root system!
  • Proper mulching of all plantings and trees is equally important throughout the months. Make sure to avoid placing the mulch tightly against any tree trunks or ornamental plant as this may lead to rot.
  • Late Spring be sure to prune back the plants that only blossom in the Spring months. This will ensure proper growth for the following year!
